On behalf of the National Model Education Committee, an awareness workshop was held yesterday for school students on environmental air and its impacts
. In this, Ramanan, former Director of Meteorological Research Center participated and discussed with the students.

Apart from Tamil Nadu, India, he explained the seriousness of the effects of wind in various countries by showing video recordings.
Also, on this occasion, he said, “Disasters cannot be prevented, due care should be taken in taking precautionary measures. Besides, if the public properly follows the instructions on what to do and what not to do in such cases, harm can be avoided. In such cases, power supply will be interrupted immediately. It is noteworthy that a person who went to take a picture in an ATM machine in Chennai died due to the Benjal storm.
As soon as the public is alerted, they should be prepared to move to safe places, stock up on adequate food, and have first aid supplies. In places where such a storm has hit, the people who go for maintenance of electrical connections should wear helmets and carry out the work with proper safety. India has no such safeguards. The electrical workers involved in this work during Gaja storm deserve praise,” he said.
He continued to answer the questions of the students. In this, National Model Education Committee President Mohan Chander, Secretary Uma, School Principals Keethalachumanan, Baby and others participated.
