Coimbatore; A new building with modern facilities was constructed at a cost of Rs. 287 crores in the Government Medical College Hospital complex during the AIADMK regime. The building, which came into use last year, is being used as a super specialty hospital with 300 beds, 10 operating theatres and modern laboratories.
Nearby, there is a four-storey building built in 2016. There was a demand to build a connecting bridge between these two buildings for the convenience of patients and their companions and for easy access to different departments.

Following this, Rs. 1.67 crore was allocated from the Coimbatore North Constituency MLA fund. The groundbreaking ceremony for this was held yesterday. MLA, Amman Arjunan, Dean Nirmala, doctors, nurses and AIADMK executives participated.
