Coimbatore; The Coimbatore Corporation Council meeting will be held on 30th (Monday) after a gap of 67 days. The Council meeting in Coimbatore Corporation is usually held every month. It was held on 23rd Oct.; The meeting was not held in the month of Nov. It was said to be held in the first week of Dec. But, as usual, an invitation has been sent to hold it at the end of this month, on 30th. The resolution materials have been sent to the councilors.
In this, a resolution has been proposed regarding the old garbage stored in the Vellalur warehouse. Seven lakh, 43 thousand, 287 metric tons of old garbage was stored in the Vellalur warehouse; the Tamil Nadu government allocated Rs. 58.54 crore for its disposal through ‘biomining’ method.
However, a fire accident occurred in the warehouse from 6th Apr. to 17th Apr.; The amount of garbage has decreased due to burning and turning into ashes. Therefore, the garbage is being re-measured. A Chennai-based company has been given the responsibility of conducting this work, and Anna University has been given the responsibility of conducting a detailed study, with the prior approval of the Mayor.
In this regard, a follow-up resolution is being tabled in the forum.
