A car fell into a river near Palakkad due to misguided Google Map. In this, five people in the car fortunately escaped.
Balakrishnan, 57, a resident of Kotakkal Sengottur area in Malappuram district, Kerala, along with his relatives Sadanandan, Visalakshi, Rukmini and Krishnaprasad, went to Kutthampullai area on the Palakkad-Thrissur border area in a car the day before yesterday evening. They bought some textiles for a housewarming and returned home at 7:30 pm. At that time, he knew the route by looking at Google Map and drove the car. In the Thiruvilvamalai area, a car on its way to the dam fell into the river due to misguided Google Map.
The water in the river where the car fell was only five feet deep, so all five people in the car fortunately escaped. Seeing this, the locals ran and rescued the people in the car and brought them to the shore. Upon receiving the information, the Pazhalannur police visited the scene.
The car was recovered yesterday morning with the help of Poqline.
