On behalf of the Coimbatore District Panchalai Trade Unions, a felicitation ceremony was held at a private hall near Hope College to appreciate the 65 years of work of the trade union of ‘Coimbatore Periyar District Dravida Panchalai Workers’ Progress Association’, Duraisamy, in a private hall. Former MLA Arumugam presided over the function.

Senior advocate Nagasubramanian spoke at the event:

Thuraisamy, despite being in a political party, only prioritized the welfare of the workers. If he had given his all, he would have sought ministerial posts.

He bought all the properties in the name of the trade union. The currently useless properties should be sold, converted into money, and a trust should be started through which the children of the workers should be provided with education and medical facilities. He will complete this.

Thus he spoke.
Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan President Krishnaraj Vanavarayar said:
If I were the SAIMA President now, I would have organized a grand ceremony for Duraisamy. The responsibility of a trade union leader is very difficult. Both the employers and the workers have to be carefully considered. In this, Duraisamy said.

We have achieved great development after independence. We could have achieved more than this. The current youth have less interest in the nation.

Every Indian should have a share and responsibility in it. The moment we bought money and drove away, the interest in the nation disappeared. We could not have imagined this 40 years ago. Individual and social morality has completely disappeared.

Thus, he spoke.
At the event, Duraisamy delivered the acceptance speech. He was presented with a souvenir on behalf of all the trade unions.
Former Additional Labour Commissioner Marimuthu and a large number of trade union leaders participated.
