Wipro Limited hosted the 21st edition of its flagship event, the Spirit of Wipro Run, on Sunday at its Coimbatore campus, drawing over 1,100 participants. The annual event brought together Wipro employees, their families, clients, and partners as part of a worldwide initiative that saw more than 72,000 global participants across 70 cities.
The run was officially flagged off by Padma Shri Dr. G. Bakthavathsalam, Chairman of KG Hospital. Prominent athlete Nausheen Banu Chand, recent recipient of the Kalpana Chawla Award, also graced the occasion as a special participant.
Beyond promoting fitness, the event serves as one of the world’s largest employee-led charity fundraisers. Through Wipro Cares, the philanthropic arm of the Wipro Foundation, the company provides matching corporate contributions for every participant registration. These funds directly support over 80 non-profit organizations globally that focus on improving healthcare, expanding education for underserved communities, and promoting environmental sustainability.
