Seniority system!
District Social Welfare Officer Ambika said:
Earlier, the Moovalur Ramamirtham Ammaiyar Memorial Marriage Financial Assistance Scheme was common, so they applied collectively. After the scheme was changed, they are applying separately for four schemes.
Thus, financial assistance is mostly provided to all those who applied. Even though the annual income limit is high, only those who apply are rejected.
In 2024-25, 90 people are yet to be given gold for Thali. They are waiting because in some schemes, it is given on the basis of seniority.
