A four-lane flyover is being constructed by the National Highways Department on the Coimbatore-Metupalayam road, starting from Saibaba Colony and ending at the bus stand, for a length of 1,140 meters, at a cost of Rs. 52.90 crore.
First, a hole was drilled in front of the bus stand and the pillars were erected. At that time, the water pipe was broken. Immediately, alternative arrangements were made and water was supplied through another pipe.

So far, 12 pillars have been drilled and erected. The work of drilling the pillars in Saibaba Colony has been going on for two days. Yesterday, while digging with Pockline machines, an underground sewer pipe broke.
The work was affected due to the leakage of sewage. The sewage is currently being discharged.
The National Highways Department has informed the corporation officials about the pipe rupture.
