Tourists flock to Coimbatore Courtallam

Thondamuthur; More than ten thousand tourists bathed and enjoyed themselves in Coimbatore Courtallam during the Pongal holidays.

Coimbatore Courtallam waterfall is located in the area under the Poluvampatti forest reserve in the Western Ghats of Coimbatore. This waterfall is under the control of the Poluvampatti, Coimbatore Courtallam Eco-Tourism Forest Department. Tourists are allowed to visit this waterfall, which is located inside a dense forest, on six days a week except Monday. Tourists obtain tickets at the forest department ticket counter at the Sadivayal check post, park their vehicles in the parking area, and are taken to the old parking area by forest department vehicles. From there, tourists walk for about 1½ km while enjoying the nature and enjoy bathing in the Coimbatore Courtallam waterfall, which flows like a silver waterfall.

Due to the Pongal festival, 2,700 people on Thai Pongal, 4,500 on Mattupongal, and 3,600 on Kanum Pongal yesterday, a total of 10,800 tourists bathed in Coimbatore Courtallam during the Pongal holiday.
