The Southern India Engineering Manufacturers’ Association (SIEMA) has extended its heartfelt gratitude to the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu for his continued efforts toward the industrial and infrastructural development of Coimbatore.
In a statement, SIEMA President Mithun Ramdas expressed appreciation to the Chief Minister for expediting the establishment of the Centre of Excellence (CoE) for the pump industry in Coimbatore. The project, which carries a total cost of Rs.14.4 crore, has received a grant of Rs.13 crore from the Government of Tamil Nadu. “This initiative will significantly enhance research, innovation, and technological advancement in Coimbatore’s renowned pump manufacturing sector,” he noted.
SIEMA also lauded the Chief Minister for the completion of the Avinashi Road flyover, a landmark infrastructure project that is expected to ease traffic congestion and support smoother connectivity across the city. The association expressed special appreciation for naming the flyover after G.D. Naidu, popularly known as the “Edison of India,” calling it a moment of pride for Coimbatore.
Taking the opportunity, SIEMA further requested the Chief Minister to expedite the Western Bypass Road (Phase 2 and Phase 3) as well as the Eastern Bypass Road, both of which have been previously announced by the state government.
Ramdas also commended the Chief Minister for his visionary metro rail project, describing it as “a testament to his deep commitment to Coimbatore’s growth and modernization.” He urged that the metro project be fast-tracked to bring about quicker benefits to commuters and the city’s economy.
“Coimbatore stands on the threshold of major transformation,” Ramdas concluded. “We are deeply thankful to the Chief Minister for his proactive leadership and continued support toward the city’s progress.”
