The 3rd RCC Nathan Memorial Trophy, a premier interschool 5-a-side football tournament, kicked off with grand enthusiasm at Vivekam Senior Secondary School, Saravanampatti, celebrating not just the sport but a powerful social cause—promoting Girl Child Education through youth engagement in sports.
Organized by the Rotary Club of Coimbatore City in collaboration with the host school, the event stands as a heartfelt tribute to the late father of Rtn. Justin, symbolizing his values of community service and youth empowerment.
This year, the tournament saw record-breaking participation with 196 boys’ teams across Under-12, Under-14, Under-16, and Under-18 categories, and 29 girls’ teams competing in the Under-14 category—making it one of the largest interschool football events in the region.
The tournament was officially inaugurated by Rtn. Dr. N. Senthilkumar, Assistant Governor of Rotary District 3206. The event was graced by Chief Guest Rtn. PP. MD. S.G. Swaminathan, Youth Service Chairman (2025–2026), and Guest of Honour Mrs. Udaya P.S. Menon, Advocate, Supreme Court of India. Mrs. A. Lily Princy, Principal of Vivekam School, welcomed the guests and participants warmly.
In his keynote, Rtn. Swaminathan highlighted the tournament’s broader mission:
“This tournament is more than just competition—it’s a celebration of youth, values, and empowerment. Sports cultivate discipline, leadership, and inclusivity.”
The success of the tournament was made possible through the generous support of Sniper Solutions, Royal Care Hospitals, Star, Raghavi Automotive, Borosil, Hartha eShoppe, VJoyce, CrescereMed, Santhosh Holidays, and PhotoBoys.
With passionate players, vibrant energy, and a noble vision beyond the field, the RCC Nathan Memorial Trophy has emerged as a landmark sporting event in Coimbatore—uniting schools, communities, and young leaders under one empowering goal.
