PhD students at Bharathiar University, Coimbatore, are protesting against the fee hike and the lack of essential facilities, the university administration said.
The students allege that various problems are continuing at the university. In particular, the students allege that the hygiene of the hostel is very poor, that the stipend for research students is not being paid properly, and that the research equipment used by the students is in a bad condition and is not being maintained.
Furthermore, the students allege that instead of solving the problems of the students, the university administration has increased the fees for submitting abstracts and dissertations. Due to this, the students are facing severe mental distress.
Therefore, the students are protesting in front of the main gate of the university, demanding that the problems of Bharathiar University research students be resolved immediately. This protest by the students has created a stir at the university gate.
