No contest; No support: Vijay’s party announces by-elections
Chennai: ‘Tamil Nadu Victory Party is boycotting the Erode East by-election. No support for any party,’ announced T.V.K. General Secretary Anand. The by-election for the Erode East assembly constituency will be held on February 5. DMK and Naam Tamilar Katchi are in the fray. The main opposition parties AIADMK, BJP, and DMK have boycotted the election. In this context, ”Tamil Nadu Victory Party is boycotting the Erode East by-election. No support for any party,’ announced T.R.K. General Secretary Anand. His statement: In the first statement for the party’s launch, issued on February 2 last year, the Tamil Nadu Victory Party leader had categorically stated that the main goal of the Tamil Nadu Victory Party is to contest and win the upcoming assembly general election to be held in 2026 and serve the people. Until then, he had categorically stated that he would not contest any election, including the local body elections, in the interim. Furthermore, past history teaches us that the ruling governments in Tamil Nadu have traditionally won by-elections by staging political tragedies against democracy many times more than in general elections, without following democratic traditions.

Based on that, I would like to inform you that, on the instructions of the party leader, the Tamil Nadu Victory Party will boycott the Erode East Assembly constituency by-election to be held on February 5, just like the Vikravandi by-election that was held. Anand said this.
