Kumaraguru Model United Nations 2024 began at the Kumaraguru Institutions, where students emulate the roles of representatives from various countries, mirroring the activities of the actual United Nations.
The three-day event was inaugurated by T P Sreenivasan, IFS, Former Ambassador & Permanent Representative for India to the United Nations through online mode and delivered the keynote address.Shankar Vanavarayar, President of Kumaraguru Institutions delivered the Presidential Address. G. Ragupathy, Director of Strategic Planning and Review, Kumaraguru Institutions, Anita Kumari, Faculty Convener General were part of the program. Around 200 student ambassadors and leaders from colleges and institutions all over the country, including major cities like Bangalore, Chennai, Trivandrum and Hyderabad participated in the event.
Over the next three days, students will discuss and debate important global issues, trying to find solutions through teamwork and negotiation. It helps students learn about world problems, practice speaking in public, and improve their skills in working together and solving problems. The committee sessions will provide aspiring diplomats with an opportunity to engage in constructive dialogue, develop leadership skills, exchange ideas and opinions and foster a deep understanding of global issues.
