KGM Hospital – Celebrating 25 years in Medical Service…..

‘A hospital may be a place of illness, but it’s also a place of healing, hope, and humanity.’ As the aforementioned quote goes, Coimbatore famous KGM Hospital has been healing the ill people instilling in them the hope of life. The hospital celebrated its 25th anniversary recently with grandeur with a wide spectrum of eminent doctors of Coimbatore taking part as guests. Dr.N.S.Thangavel, Director of KGM Hospital welcomed the august gathering. Dr. N.S. Kumaresan, Managing Director of KGM Hospital presided over the celebration. Dr. Nalla G.Palaniswamy, Chairman of KMCH Hospital and Dr. G.Bakthavatsalam, Chairman of KG Hospital were the Guest of Honour. Dr. Nalla G. Palaniswamy, speaking at the event, stated, “It is a blessing to be associated with the KGM Hospital even during the time of Dr.Kumaresan’s father Subramaniam. He was the closest friend of my father-in-law. Till date we are closely connected. Born into a farming family, four brothers now run the KGM Hospital with success, demonstrating to the world how brothers can work together to achieve success. I worked along with Dr. G.Bakthavatsalam from 1973 to 1975 in the Coimbatore Medical College. He was the one who brought modern medicine to Coimbatore. I wish that the doctors of KGM Hospital too to serve the people of Coimbatore following the strides of Dr. G.Bakthavatsalam,” he said. Dr. G.Bakthavatsalam, Chairman of KG Hospital said, “The KGM family with 11 doctors is an active family. The KGM Hospital is like my own KG Hospital. It bring me pleasure to be taking part in the 25th anniversary of the KGM Hospital, “he said. Additionally, he provided the audience with additional details regarding healthy lifestyle practices. Dr. K.Madeswaran, Chairman of Royal Care Super Specialty Hospital, acknowledged the occasion by stating, “I became friends with Dr. Thangavel in 2004. For twenty years we have been friends now. For creating a hospital, it takes a lot of hard work and effort. It takes a lot of time for a hospital to bring in the trust amongst the people. The hospitals and doctors are facing a lot of challenges. People always sensationalise the insight of mistakes done by the doctors. People should verify the facts too and be in support to us. I wish all success for Dr. Kumaresan and Dr.Thangavel for crossing over 25 years in the medical field,” he said. Dr. Sadhasivam, Former Professor of Surgery, Coimbatore Medical College felicitated the event stating, “Dr. Kumaresan is my UG and PG student.
He is an exemplar for how a student should be showing so much of respect and reverence. I wish that KGM Hospital reaches its pinnacle in the coming years,” he said. Dr.Kumaresan in his acceptance speech said, “I want to thank Dr.Nalla G Palaniswamy and his Father in Law Subramaniam, who laid the foundation stone of our hospital 25 years ago. Dr. G. Bakthavatsalam taught us how to lead a hospital with responsibility. I would like to extend my thanks to Dr.M.Ravi, Retired DGP, Dr. K.Madeswaran, Dr. Sadhasivam and Rajalakshmi, President of Chinniampalayam Panchayat for helping us all over our growth as a hospital,” he said. Dr. Kumaresan and Dr.Thangavel felicitated the various doctors and medical staff for their tireless effort and contribution for the success of the hospital. M. P. Saminathan, Minister for Information & Publicity and Member of Legislative Assembly Eswaran, Former Member of Parliament Sukumaran felicitated the event. CSR Hospital Managing Director Kumar, Dr. Guhan, Dr. Karthikesh representing Sri Ramakrishna Hospital, GK Nagaraj, Farmers Association President Chellamuthu, Hindustan College Secretary Saraswathi Kannaiyan, various hospital doctors, family and friends, patients with long standing relationship with the hospital were also present during the occasion.
