Coimbatore; Jal Shakti Abhiyan Nodal Officer Rajalakshmi conducted a two-day inspection in Coimbatore on the development work being done in water bodies on behalf of the Sirutuli organization in Coimbatore. The work done by the ‘Sirutuli’ voluntary organization to restore water bodies in Coimbatore district in the past 22 years was explained through a ‘Power Point’ at the R.S. Puram Municipal Corporation Art Gallery.
Later, the Nodal Officer personally inspected the work carried out at Mundanthurai, Uthupallam, Nandangarai check dams, Karuparayan Temple, and Mosorambu Odai.
From the ‘Sirutuli’ side, it was emphasized that, ‘In fast-growing cities like Coimbatore, rainwater harvesting structures should be established in many places. Only by doing so can the water demand be met in the future. The demand for water is increasing day by day. For this, the water bodies should be prepared before the rains.’
