On the evening of the 10th in Coimbatore, forest officials were engaged in the task of chasing away a wild cow from an agricultural land in Tholampalayam, which falls within the Thadakam forest boundary.
At that time, the wild cow attacked Tholampalayam forest guard Ashok Kumar, seriously injuring him.
The forest officials immediately rescued him and admitted the seriously injured Ashok Kumar to the Siliguri Government Hospital.
He was given first aid there and admitted to the Coimbatore Medical College Hospital for further treatment.
After being treated in the intensive care unit of the hospital for two days, he died this morning without any treatment.
