First edition of EBG Socio-Innovation Summit with active partnership from Coimbatore Higher Educational Institutions held

EBG Foundation, chaired by renowned academician and former vice chancellor of Anna University, Prof.E.Balagurusamy organized the first edition of EBG Socio – Innovation Summit 2024 in Coimbatore with active partnership of academic institutions and industries at Sri Ramakrishna Auditorium on Saturday (26.10.2024).

Top academic executives from Karpagam University, Adithya Group of Institutions, KPR Institutions, Sri Krishna Institutions, KSR Institutions, PSG Institutions, UIT Institutions and Sri Ramakrishna College of Arts and Science are among the organizing committee of this summit that focuses on women’s economical, political, social, educational and digital empowerment.  The participants included college faculties, industrialists, representatives of industry, NGOs.

Prof.B.Thiagarajan, Registrar, IIT Palakkad, a Guest of Honor, said patriarchy too begins at home hence the concept of women empowerment should first start from our houses.

P.Alli Rani, Director, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International School of Textiles & Management, another guest of honor opined that women empowerment is not something that should be given to them, rather women need to acquire power and not hesitate to play roles that needs them to lead and not be a subordinate.

Speaking at the event, Prof.E.Balagurusamy, Founder, EBG Foundation expressed that just like former Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam, our current PM has a dream of seeing a developed India, and he has set 2047 as the target for that.

To make that dream come true, men and women both need to work together, focus on innovation and produce new services that will also support our society. This message is the core of organizing this summit under the theme ‘Empowering Women, Enriching Society’.

Popular orator Adv.K.Sumathi delivered the Keynote Note. She said “Who you (the women) are in a world full of problems and what you are going to do, will define you”.

She opined that women empowerment is not just about achieving education, positions, getting great salaries but it also includes saying it loud that a woman has freedom to manage her own affairs and men cannot get into it in the name of marriage. When you have a personal satisfaction that you have played your roles well, you don’t have to wait for a good- certificate from society, she directly said to the women attending the event.

Earlier, Prof.K.Ramasamy, Chancellor, Karpagam University welcomed the gathering. At the end of the event,K.Sundararaman, CEO, Sri Krishna Institutions proposed Vote of Thanks. A souvenir of the summit was also launched by all the guests.

The Summit will feature special talks from accomplished women. Plenary Session-1 will be chaired by Vineeta Hariharan, Public Policy Exponent, New Delhi. Swathy Rohit COO, SNR Sons Charitable Trust, Vinu Aram, President, Shanti Ashram, A. Pari IPS, Former IG of Police, TN will be the speakers. Plenary Session – 2 will be chaired by A. Natarajan IFS, Regional President, ICCC.Dr. Kavidasan, Director, Roots Industries and Mahalakshmi Saravanan Founder-Women Entrepreneurs India will be the speakers.
