southern Railway has announced that the Coimbatore – Bengaluru Cantonment – Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express will operate on a diverted route on July 6, 2025 (Sunday) to facilitate infrastructure development work near Hosur.
According to the revised plan:

Train No. 20642, Coimbatore to Bengaluru Cantonment Vande Bharat Express, scheduled to depart Coimbatore Junction at 7:25 a.m., will run on a diverted route between Salem and Bengaluru Cantonment. Instead of the usual path via Dharmapuri and Hosur, the train will be rerouted via Tirupattur, Bangarapet, and Krishnarajapuram. It will not halt at Dharmapuri and Hosur railway stations on this day.

The return service, Train No. 20641, Bengaluru Cantonment to Coimbatore Vande Bharat Express, scheduled to depart Bengaluru Cantonment at 2:20 p.m., will also be diverted on the same date. The train will skip Hosur and Dharmapuri, running instead via Krishnarajapuram, Bangarapet, and Tirupattur to reach Salem, before proceeding to Coimbatore.
Passengers scheduled to board or alight at Hosur or Dharmapuri are advised to plan alternative arrangements for July 6. Regular service on the usual route will resume from July 7, 2025.
