The fifth edition of the SSVM Transforming India Conclave, themed ‘Flex Your Future’, began with an energetic Student First Obstacle Course Experience.
Instead of opening the three-day conclave with speeches, students of SSVM World School were given an opportunity to experience the theme through a series of physical challenges. They climbed, balanced, stretched and tackled obstacles while encouraging their peers to keep going despite difficulties.

The event was flagged off by Dr. Manimekalai Mohan, Founder and Managing Trustee, SSVM Institutions, in the presence of S. Mohandoss, Trustee, SSVM Institutions; Srisha Mohandoss, Director, SSVM Institutions and Co-Founder of Ruh Continuum School and Ruh Early Years; and Nitin Jey, Director, SSVM Institutions and Director of Ruh Continuum School and Ruh Early Years. The leadership team also participated in the obstacle course along with the students.
Dr. Manimekalai Mohan said the activity was designed to help children understand the importance of pushing beyond their limits and developing both physical and mental strength. She said experiencing challenges, receiving encouragement and persevering despite fatigue would help students develop the confidence to face challenges in life.
Srisha Mohandoss said the theme ‘Flex Your Future’ was not merely a concept but an experience for students. She emphasised that being future-ready involved self-awareness, resilience, understanding one’s strengths and having the courage to continue when faced with difficulties.
The obstacle course included challenges such as the monkey bars, which tested participants’ grip and upper-body strength. The activity also highlighted teamwork, as students cheered and supported one another throughout the course. Teachers participated in the challenges as well, reinforcing the importance of wellbeing and resilience across generations.
The three-day conclave, which brings together more than 1,800 students, will continue on September 1 and 2. The programme will feature interactions with accomplished personalities, including Air Commodore Prasanth Balakrishnan Nair, Gaganyatri and Indian Air Force officer; Olympic gold medallist Abhinav Bindra; Indian cricketer Ruturaj Gaikwad; and Bharatanatyam dancer and choreographer Rukmini Vijayakumar.
The sessions will focus on health, fitness, wellbeing, movement, discipline and mental resilience, with students getting opportunities to interact with the achievers and participate in experiential activities.
