In a high-profile political move, NDA candidate C P Radhakrishnan officially filed his nomination papers for the upcoming Vice Presidential election today. The event took place in the Parliament complex in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Home Minister Amit Shah, and other senior NDA leaders.

Four sets of nomination papers were submitted to Rajya Sabha Secretary General P C Mody, who serves as the Returning Officer for the election. Each set of papers was proposed by key alliance figures, including PM Modi, Rajnath Singh, Amit Shah, and JD(U) leader Rajiv Ranjan Singh.

Following a formal examination of the nomination papers, Radhakrishnan signed the official register, and an acknowledgement slip was handed over to the Prime Minister.
The NDA leadership, including Pralhad Joshi, Dharmendra Pradhan, K Ram Mohan Naidu (TDP), Shrikant Shinde (Shiv Sena), and Chirag Paswan (LJPSP), escorted Radhakrishnan during the nomination procedure, signaling a strong show of unity among NDA allies.
Prior to filing his nomination, Radhakrishnan paid floral tributes at Prerna Sthal, where statues of iconic national leaders, including Mahatma Gandhi, are located.
With overwhelming NDA support and a smooth nomination process, Radhakrishnan’s election as Vice President is considered a near certainty.
