Patriotic Splendour Marks 79th Independence Day at National Model School

The 79th Independence Day was celebrated with great zeal and patriotic spirit at National Model Matriculation Higher Secondary School. The entire campus was adorned with vibrant decorations reflecting the colors of the national flag, setting a festive and proud atmosphere.


The event commenced with the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag, followed by a dignified Guard of Honor presented to the Chief Guests — Wing Commander R. Sadish, serving officer in the Indian Air Force, and Dr. J. S. Bhuvaneshwaran, Director of PSG Super Speciality Hospital. Their presence added prestige and inspiration to the event.
One of the key highlights of the day was the impressive march past by the Grade 12 students dressed in traditional sarees and dhotis, joined by the diligent Grade 10 students, NCC cadets, RSP, and Scouts and Guides.
The school band’s lively performance added rhythm and energy to the parade.
The cultural segment showcased the rich heritage and diversity of India through mesmerizing performances. Students presented thematic dances on topics such as Cities of India, Tribute to Pulithevan, Eminent Sports Personalities and Khel Ratna Awardees, Operation Sindoor, and Soul of India. Additionally, karate and yoga demonstrations highlighted the physical discipline and mental focus promoted by the school. In their inspiring addresses, the Chief Guests emphasized the value of freedom and the role of youth in nation-building. They encouraged students to be responsible citizens and to contribute meaningfully to the country’s progress.
The event saw the gracious presence of Correspondent Mr. Mohanchandhar, Secretary Mrs. Uma Mohanchandhar, along with staff, students, and enthusiastic parents. The grand celebration concluded with the National Anthem, leaving everyone filled with pride and patriotism.
