In a landmark moment for Indian publishing, Coimbatore-based writer Nagaraj Balasubramaniam has unveiled India’s first-ever Mirror Edition book, earning him a coveted spot in the India Book of Records.
Titled “The Behavioral Investor: Why Smart People Make Poor Financial Choices”, the book was officially launched in Coimbatore on Saturday. The unique Mirror Edition, in which the entire content is printed in reverse and can only be read using a mirror, is a creative take on challenging conventional perspectives—mirroring the book’s core message on behavioral finance.
The Standard Edition of the book was released by Prof. Velraj, Former Vice-Chancellor of Anna University, and the first copy was received by Prof. Aman Kumar Dubey, Program Chairperson – MBA (IEV) at Kumaraguru College of Technology.
The Mirror Edition was launched by YouTuber and orator Hussain Ahmed, Founder of Cheran Academy, with the first copy received by orator Gurujnanambika.
Nagaraj, a certified NSE market professional and seasoned economic journalist with over two decades of experience, is also an IIM Lucknow alumnus. Known for simplifying financial concepts for the masses, this marks his fourth book, combining his expertise in finance and his passion for creative publishing.
Speaking at the event, Nagaraj said: “While the standard edition helps readers recognize biases in decision-making, the Mirror Edition invites a shift in perspective. It’s a metaphor for how we must learn to look at finance—and life—from a different angle.”
Published by Adhyyan Books, a New Delhi-based publishing house, The Behavioral Investor dives deep into behavioral finance, examining how even intelligent investors can fall prey to cognitive traps and emotional biases. Through research-backed insights and real-world examples, the book equips readers to embrace uncertainty, overcome biases, and build wealth strategically.
The book’s innovative Mirror Edition has not only earned recognition from the India Book of Records but also from the London Book of World Records in July 2025.
The event, organized by Handcraft Events Studioz, was graced by notable guests including VS Chandirakumar (Founder, Valam NGO), RV Sivakumar (Founder, RV Garments), and members of the Rotary Club of Coimbatore Blossom.
With this achievement, Nagaraj Balasubramaniam has set a new benchmark in both financial literature and creative publishing, proving that a shift in perspective can lead to record-breaking ideas.
