Speaking on the occasion, Selvam, Managing Director of the Leather Export Corporation, said,
As a student of this college, it is a pleasure to participate in this convocation ceremony today and deliver the keynote address. 30 years ago, I was also sitting in this same place as a student, but I did not listen to the words of those who were speaking on the stage that day, and today I feel that the bird that went to seek God has returned to its nest.
Today, I see myself as one of you and you as one of me. I still cannot forget the library, coffee shop, laboratories, sitting under trees and talking while I was studying in college. You will also feel the same things after leaving here.
University Vice-Chancellor Geetha Lakshmi beautifully highlighted the achievements of the university. She said that this university is providing 200 civil servants to the whole of India every time and spoke to the students by telling the success stories of many pioneers.
For those who are students, researchers and graduates of agriculture, today there are various challenges in the agricultural sector due to climate change and growing population at the global level. We need to understand that and formulate solutions accordingly. Only then can we increase agricultural production and promote the development of the country, he said.
Registrar Tamilvendan, professors of the Agricultural University, students and many others participated in this event.
